My issue with the pink ribbon and breast cancer.

I know today is Breast cancer awareness month and there will be a lot of pink ribbon all over the place. Fine, I guess. I don't understand it. It's a cancer and all cancers suck. Diseases suck in general. We all hate them and no body wants one. "I hate cancer".....well, who like cancer?

I don't understand the pink ribbon thing. I know it's for breast cancer awareness, but at this point, who isn't aware of breast cancer? I think it went from awareness to "HEY, LOOK AT ME, I CARE ABOUT SOMETHING....LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME". Or maybe it's about caring about a certain body part. Maybe people like boobs so much that they don't want to say it and uses the pink ribbon to say it. "I care about breast cancer"....No, you just like boobs and you don't want to have a woman lose them and refocus on something else like their mind. I think it's now an advertizing plot to talk about sex by thinking about breasts. It the new way to think about sex and make people buy a product that has the pink ribbon.

What I find weirder is that women care about breast cancer more than other cancers. Now from I'm gathering from women, they don't like being viewed as a pair of breast. If that is the case, why do they focus their mindset on a cancer that aim to the body part that they don't like being known for? I would think that if they don't like being known for their boobs, they wouldn't want to care more about this kind of cancer. Also, what makes a women is the idea that they can reproduce. Childhood is what make a woman what she is. I might be wrong about this, but considering how women look at menopause and the idea of losing the ability to have kids, maybe, I don't know. So with that in mind, should women focus more of ovarian cancer? Ovarian cancer kills only women and kills 15,000 women a year. Grant it, it's only about a third of breast cancer, but I don't see the ribbon for ovarian cancer near as often as the pink ribbon. I've rarely seen a ovarian cancer ribbon on a package at a store, but the pink ribbon is everywhere.

Then again, what do I know.....I'm a moron, and waiting for Moron awareness month.
